We are a non-profit organization that provides resources, referrals, information and support to residents in the North Central area of Calgary. We assist individuals and families in accessing resources in their community by providing information and referrals for basic needs such as food, clothing, housing, employment and transportation. Onsite we are able to provide emergency food, toiletries and diapers as well as provide information and orders through two food co-op programs run out of the resource centre. We have a computer room where residents have access to two computers with Internet, a fax machine, a photocopier and a phone, all free of charge. We partner with a number of agencies and schools within the city to provide free programming for families and individuals in the surrounding area including after-school teen programs, women’s health programs and budgeting workshops. Programs run out of the resource centre are created by needs identified within the community. We encourage self-empowerment by providing educational programs to support people in finding their own solutions. We believe that community issues are a collective responsibility and results are achieved when we work together in partnerships.
